Users and roles

Employees, roles and granular permissions.

The system supports multiple users with different levels of access, controlled by roles with granular permissions.

Adding employees

  1. Go to Users → Employees.
  2. Click "Add employee" and fill in name, email and password.
  3. Assign them a role: the role determines what they can see and do in the panel.

Roles and permissions

  1. Roles are managed under Users → Roles.
  2. For each role you can switch individual permissions on or off: view orders, create products, apply discounts, access reports, change settings, and so on.
  3. Permission changes apply to every user holding that role.

Typical examples:

  • Cashier: access to the POS and to orders, with no access to settings or reports.
  • Supervisor: products, inventory, orders and reports, with no access to tax settings or payment gateways.
  • Administrator: full access.

Good practice

  • Give each employee their own user account — that way the Audit log reflects who did what.
  • Assign the minimum permissions needed for each position.
  • Sensitive permissions (tax settings, payment gateways, role management) are best kept to the administrator.
